We collect at our clinic for Sacks of Love

Providing nutritious food for hungry children

Often parents or guardians are forced to choose between food, rent or utilities. Concerned with the well-being of our students, a group called Sacks of Love Kershaw County was formed and is sponsored by the Woman’s Missionary Union of the Kershaw Baptist Association (KBA).

The purpose of Sacks of Love is to provide sacks filled with nutritious food that children take home on weekends. Food is child-friendly and nonperishable. Sacks are discreetly distributed to children on the last day before the weekend or holiday vacation.

In Cooperation with the Kershaw County School District, Sacks of Love is distributing food in our public schools. Principals, guidance counselors, nurses and teachers identify students who have little or no food to eat on weekends. Children nor their parents can apply for this supplemental feeding ministry.

Sacks of Love is designed to meet the needs of hungry children at times when other resources are not available.

Did you know that some students do not have nutritious food to eat outside the breakfasts and lunches they receive at school?
